Community Service

Putting amateur radio to work for Regina — from bike tours and parades to emergency communications.

Public Service Events

Each year the club provides communications support for community events around Regina. Volunteer operators position themselves along bike routes, parade routes, and at finish lines, relaying status, requests for medical, and traffic updates back to event organizers.

ARES — Emergency Communications

The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a network of licensed amateurs who volunteer their time, equipment, and skills to provide emergency communications to served agencies when normal infrastructure is degraded or overwhelmed. Several club members are active ARES participants.

The Saskatchewan ARES net runs Sundays at 14:30 UTC on 3.753 MHz SSB. Check-ins are open to all licensed Canadian amateurs — you don't need to be formally registered with ARES to listen and check in.

Field Day

Field Day is the largest amateur radio operating event in North America — a 24-hour exercise on the fourth full weekend of June where clubs operate from emergency-style portable stations on battery, generator, or solar power. RARA participates each year. Watch the calendar and news for site details and how to join in.
